Went fishing on Aug 17, 2024
Six guys went out and we all hit our limit—no fish was under 16” and up! Left with a haul of BIG HOGS and enough walleye to last all winter! Captain Mike takes his job seriously, and even in some good sized choppy Erie waves, knew his stuff and got us fish!

Our family had a blast fishing on Captain Mike’s boat Nice, clean, spacious boat. Plenty of space for all 5 of us. He is very knowledgeable of the lake and within minutes getting to our spot we had fish on!! A few hours later we got our limit! Super nice guy, who worked hard for us! Mike was extremely patient and helpful with my daughter who had special needs. He dropped lines and we immediately started catching fish. Caught our limit and had a blast. Highly recommend Mike and Hook'n Hogs!!!
Mike is an experienced and efficient captain. However he’s not in a rush and makes great conversation. I made a special request that we target steelhead if we limited on walleye and he gave us a full extra hour after our limit. Didn’t get a steelhead but caught two 24”+ walleye that filled in some of the captains slots of the limit. Also another guy caught a 28.5” fish Ohio walleye that weighed in at 7lbs 4oz, if thats not hookin’ hogs I don't know what is. Overall was a great time talking, learning, and fishing!
Nice clean boat with a very knowledgeable captain! Mike got us on the walleye right away and we got a three person limit in less than 2 hours!
Captain Mike took us on a fun and very successful walleye fishing charter out of Geneva Ohio this morning! The boat was spotless and well equipped. He taught and showed us exactly what we needed to do and we each caught our limit. I learned a lot and he was very patient with me which as a 71 year old female (and enthusiastic but novice fisherwoman) I greatly appreciated. Dinner tonight is gonna be great!!!!

This was my second year fishing with Captain Mike and wouldn't go anywhere else! We maxed out Walleye during both trips. He is very knowledgeable and energetic. The boat is spacious and clean. He also filets and rinses the fish after the trip. It is bagged and ready to take home so you don't have to worry about anything. Thanks for always making our trips memorable and a great time!!

Visiting the area from Texas and decided I just had to try the fantastic Walleye Fishing in the area. Hookin Hogs Fishing Charters was able to add me to one of their trips as a solo fisherman. Met Capt. Mike at the Geneva State Park dock on 7/24/24. We departed at 6 AM sharp along with the two other fisherman and headed north about 12 miles onto Lake Erie. As soon as Mike slowed the boat, we started seeing fish on the electronic fish finder. As he was setting the third rod out, we had fish on the first two rods in the water. Big walleye started coming over the rail, one after the other. At one point, we were trolling nine rods and had five fish on at the same time! Highly recommend Capt. Mike and Hookin Hogs Fishing Charters, Geneva On The Lake, if you are interested in catching big walleye on Lake Erie.

Great trip out with Captain Mike! This was our second time out with Hookin Hogs and this time we brought the kiddos (4 and 7) they had an amazing time. Had us on fish right away and we had our limits within a few hours. Many times the boys were both reeling in fish at the same time.
We were fishing with Captain Mike today - we've been very successful, caught fish up to the limit and most of them were pretty big. We had a great day and enjoyed the time on Lake Erie with Captain Mike a lot! And finally the recommendation to take some fish to the restaurant The Boot was perfect as well - there you got your freshly caught fish cooked for you and can enjoy it even more
Captain Mike was awesome! Great guy all around, and can put you on fish. He gets the small ones off quick to get you on some hogs!
My kids and I had a blast and Mike was excellent. He put us on fish quickly and all morning we got a limit and got his limit as well as had him clean the fish and have a cooler full to take home. I would highly encourage using Mike for your fishing charter

My 12 year old daughter and I went out with captain mike and had a great time. I don’t want to sound sexiest but a fishing charter can sound kind of intimidating and masculine….but if you’re with a group of women, or a mother/daughter duo looking to try your hand at fishing, you can’t go wrong with captain mike! He was super kind and such a gentleman. It was a pleasure! Also, even though we didn’t intend to take the fish home, curiosity won- and we did. NO REGRETS! Delicious!!!
